A dreamy summer wedding day in Bellingham, Washington | Tommy + Richael

Wedding days like this truly make me so giddy I need to pinch myself to make sure I am not dreaming. It was a perfect sunny day in Bellingham for a seaside wedding. So much thought went into creating this day and it couldn’t have come together any better. Below is a list of all the amazing vendors I worked alongside and I would highly recommend if you are looking to have a seaside wedding in Bellingham or northern Washington in general!

Richael and Tommy picked the best accommodations for their Bellingham wedding at Hotel Bellwether. Not only was this location minutes from their ceremony and reception location, but they decided to hire a water taxi company to accomodate their guests staying at the hotel by bringing them over to Fishermens Pavilion for the ceremony.

But before any of the wedding festivities began, Richael and Tommy took a short detour down Chuckanut drive to have their private first look. I took Tommy in my car first and got him situated before Richael arrived. When I tell you this was the perfect first look, I mean THIS WAS THE PERFECT FIRST LOOK. Tommy’s face says it all (scroll for the epic reveal!). Not only was this a beautiful location, but there was not a soul around. This was the best spot I could have ever found for them to share this special moment.

Seaside Portraits off Chuckanut Drive

We spent a good amount of time off Chuckanut drive in Bellingham tucked away in the forest and overlooking the water. I love a private look for so many reasons, but the most important is the flexibility with schedule. Tommy and Richael took their time enjoying seeing one another for the first time, but also got to have a little fun exploring this a new Bellingham gem.

Light and Fun Wedding Ceremony by the water

This wedding was the ultimate mix of “classy but salty” as the couple would say as their theme. Near Fishermen’s pavilion in Bellingham is Zuanich Park where Floravore set up a simple and elegant arrangement of florals for the wedding ceremony. Richael came off the water taxi with her father and walked the path to meet Tommy. You could see Mount Baker in the distance which is always a beautiful sight to see for a Bellingham wedding! The serene coastal setting provided the perfect backdrop for a wedding day filled with warmth and so much love. There were loads of laughs, a few tears and these two exchanged their views surrounded by so many people they loved.

Tommy and Richael were so stoked to say their “I do’s” that Richael almost forgot her wedding bouquet that her mom was holding. Her mom tossed it over the guests and Richael caught as she was walking down the aisle (see photo below). This was one of my favorite moments that was captured!

Reception at Fishermens Pavilion

This fun-filled wedding reception was a celebration to remember. There were bubbles for the kids, tattoos of Tommy and Richael, specialty cocktails, and Paella and oysters for munching. The atmosphere was electric, and the heartfelt toasts and speeches added a touch of sentiment to the evening. This seaside Wedding in Bellingham continued to blow me away as the night went on!

Golden Hour Portraits on The Sound

Not only do I love golden hour portraits, but I LOVE outfit changes. I think the outfit change of the year definitely goes to Richael! By this time in the evening they were having so much fun hopping along the rocks by the water near Fishermens Pavilion, I just let them do their thing while I photographed these fun moments. Tommy and Richael met playing soccer, so rocking their adidas at some point during their Wedding day was super important to them. And this felt like the perfect time to bring them out!

Dancing into the night in Bellingham!

Laughter and joy filled the air as the newlyweds and their guests danced the night away. The dance floor was a vibrant kaleidoscope of energy, with friends and family grooving to some funky jams by DJ Chardonnay. Bubbles still made their appearance as nighttime rolled in, there was even a surprise guest with a bright flash rope to circle around the married couple. What a perfect cap to a more perfect day in Bellingham by the sea.
