When Kailey and Jackie reached out about their wedding, one of their dream was to have a beautiful day with people they love most, among the redwood trees. And that is exactly what they had. A forest wedding at Camp Cedar Ridge in Vernonia Oregon and a beautiful day in a among the trees.
The best part about getting married at Camp Cedar Ridge and venues alike is you can stay in their cabins and also use them for your getting ready location. Jackie + Kailey had their close friends and family hang by their sides while they got ready together. Details were photographed in the nearby forest and Kailey had her sisters help her in her wedding dress.
These two still wanted to have a first look so Kailey decided to wait to put her dress on while Jackie headed out to the forest to wait for her.
Jackie waited for Kailey on the bridge that leads to the forest where they would soon be officially married. They shared a private, intimate moment and their facial expressions say it all. Their friends and family quickly rushed over to celebrate them. They all started dancing and singing the Jonas Brother’s which is my kind of vibe!
There is nothing quite like seeing a couple walk through a forest of glimmering Douglas Firs to arrive at their ceremony. Seeing both Kailey and Jackie walk down the forest trail accompanied by their love ones didn’t just bring tears to my eyes, but to almost every guest. They shared their own personal vows with one another and said “I do!”.
One main reason I love intimate weddings is seeing everyone come together at the reception. Getting to see Jackie + Kailey spend quality time in forest with delicious pizza and MUNA playing all night long is really something to remember.

Jackie + Kailey’s sunset portraits were UNREAL. While sometimes its hard to get a good sunset while in a forest, this sunset was shimmering with the brightest reds and oranges. It soaked the entire landscape and the forest had just enough of an opening for the sun to peak through. They explored, dancing, took super 8 film videos of one another and had a few moments to themselves. Since they share an identical tattoo on the back of their arms, a much needed photograph was needed for that!
I always recommend to my couples to make a little bit of time in their wedding timelines for golden hour photos. There is so much that happens on a wedding day and time goes by so quickly. Taking wedding portraits at sunset gives your couples a moment to themselves to enjoy just them.
